Here is a tricky question for you.

Hello.

Depending on the food, even before you eat it.
Bacteria are breaking down food as you are shopping for it.

If you're a liberal, digestion starts somewhere early in the second trimester. If you're a conservative, digestion starts at conception...

What? Digestion? Oh, sorry. It starts in your mouth--saliva starts breaking down carbohydrates almost immediately.

Mastication is a family oriented word. Had I not begun with a little nibbling and chewing I wouldn't have a family.

There is your winner. Digestion starts with smell. When you smell something cooking, the process starts. You salivate and your guts get it in gear.

Well, actually I was wondering about the smell/sight thing, because of drooling...
digestion has started before the food gets in your mouth.

Jello shots? Where did you scrape that Jello out from? You mention two people from another place. Surely you wouldn't suggest ....

And if you enjoyed the first question, here is another.

What is the only muscle that is visible on a "normal" x-ray? That is to say, a standard technique (normal kVp & mas).

I'll take a stab at it...through the heart.

And I reserve judgement to the answer about digestion. While the preparatory processes of digestion may begin with olfactory signals, the chemical process of digestion cannot occur until the reactants are mixed. For this reason I still side with those who identifed the mouth as the first locus of digestive activity.

So there. Pfffft. Double.
