Happy Birthday, Fred! Mixed bag, being born on Christmas Day. My sister is also a Christmas baby. She actually fares better as a result ... everyone sympathizes with her sharing her birthday with everything else going on!

Hope ya work a rare one today!

Thankya, thankya vurrymuch...

For those who are wondering about the "Fred": bit - I go by that on the air, especially when working CW. Much easier to send than "John", and only bill collectors and window salesmen ask for me by my first name. :snicker:

Now...how to hide Gretchen from 'DSG... :chin:

I tried to stuff Gretchen under the tree, but she wouldn't fit. So I had to find another way to stuff her.

Sorry. Happy Birfday.

It was a Stout day!

I laid in a case of this on the 24th and enjoyed a few with some area friends last evening:

Chemical reaction? I'm thinking the active acidity of champagne mixed with the mighty stout may have taken down the lining in your stomach a couple of notches. Just off the top of my head, I'd guess the mix of alcohol, acid and sugars (read sugars as the things that gave the stout certain flavors) may have done its work.

I have to avoid the sweet stuff when mixing for my own consumption hence, liquors are drank straight except where protocol calls for half a teaspoon of soda water.
