All Bond films have the same basic story line.

Bad guy wants to take over the world.

Bond stops said bad guy while pausing to bed a few attractive ladies along the way.

End of story.

As for the best ones, I would agree that Thunderball is way up there. Not sure if I have an absolute favorite.

You gotta problem wid dat?

No doubt many of you will find this heretical but my favorite Bond movie was the most recent remake of Casino Royale (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0381061/), with Daniel Craig as Bond. Not only does it break with the usual conventions of Bond films, I think it's the one that hewed most closely to Fleming's original book.

True, Fleming never envisioned Bond as suave. Far from, as one indicative point is how he drinks his martini's. Shaken, not stirred. It bruises the gin, and is considered a brutish way to drink it.

The two worst bonds I've ever seen are trying to stick metal to metal with Super Glue and using duct tape on anything outdoors. As far as the movies go I like them all but books are better, nothing omitted for time considerations.

Thunderball. #1. No question.

It's hard to pick a #2 after that. I could make a case for Diamonds Are Forever or You Only Live Twice, possibly even Dr. No.

But the Connery films are definitely the best. Even Never Say Never Again, the Thunderball remake.

Personally, I'd rate just about all of the Rodger Moore films the worst. Moonraker is definitely the pits. The Spy Who Loved Me is totally asinine. Octopussy insults the intelligence. A View To A Kill is an insult to Ian Fleming's memory... come to think of it, so is Moonraker. On the other hand, For Your Eyes Only is actually watchable, and I'm sure in no small part to the bits and pieces of many of Fleming's books and sub plots that got blended into it.

"she's old, but she's still hot."
Propellerheads are a rockin' band too! Eh, break dancing camera operators are a bit over the top though...

State Police,
He's the man, the man with the Midas touch
A spider's touch
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to to pull to the side of the road
His heart is cold!

Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his words can't disguise what you fear
For a Parkway driver knows when he's writing
It's the kiss of DEATH ...

From Mister Coldfinger!
