Bah humbug!

Had to make too many trips on cold, frozen days to their pen. Thaw the water, give them feed, give them hay. Clean out the stall. And I don't even like goats milk!!! It was my parent's idea and I was in 4H at the time.

Don't get me started on the time I broke a shovel on the @#!& thing's head. It kept getting its head stuck in the fence. After the Nth time I looked at the goat, looked at the shovel next to me, and WHAM goat looked at me, got its head out of the fence, walked to another section of fence and got its head stuck again just to spite me. Now I've got a broken shovel, a stuck goat, and a father who's yelling at me for cussing in front of my mother. Then Dad's cussing at the goat because it got stuck in the fence right after he just got it unstuck. We both wanted to shoot the goat after that. Mom wisely gave the goat to another family in 4H.

Probably a better idea than joining Cub Scouts to do the same unless you were into Cougarish Den Mothers at an early age.

Bwah ha ha! I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

During those formative years my parents decided to home school me. Joining 4H was not my choice. I would rather have joined the Boy Scouts and learned how to start fires, tie knots, and collect merit badges. You know, useful.... ish stuff.

Anywho, since then I've caught up on social development. And I'm no young Dustin Hoffman.....

Hey hey hey, I was never that into raising livestock. Although I did enjoy help raising a pig for freezer food last year. Nothing tastes better than free grazing livestock that is not pumped full of drugs and chemicals. I wish we had not gone through all of the bacon so quickly. Mmmmmmmmmm so good, and I don't care about my arteries hardening just thinking about it.

I've had goat meat in the past, but there was just something off in the aftertaste. Kinda like when a bunch of cannibals were having a comedian over for dinner and said the meal tasted funny.
