My XYL was in the hospital a couple months ago for something similar...SVT (superior ventrical tachycardia...or something like that). Her heart began racing one morning. I took her to urgent care but none of their methods worked to slow down her heart beat from around 175/min. So, they called an ambulance which took her to ER where they injected some drug that momentarily stopped her heart (a very unpleasant feeling, according to her). She spent a couple days in the hospital under observation. This "reset" seemed to work and $10k smackers later (our part after insurance) we still don't know what caused it.

The medical industry in this country is the biggest rip off in the history of mankind, with the full blessing and backing of the US government.
The cost breakdown probably went like this:

Full bill: $50k
Insurance billed: $40k
Insurance discount: $20k
Insurance paid: $20k
Your 20%: $10k

Well, I'm home. They did a bunch of tests and couldn't find what caused it. It went away on its own. I've had episodes before but this one was really bad. I barely remember calling my cardiologist and having them tell me to have someone take me to the ER. This morning I got up and was feeling really tired. I finally took a shower and had a laundry list of things I needed to get done but was feeling really, really tired. At one point I just felt lightheaded and disoriented and realized my heart was pounding fast. Then the chest pain came. Fun, fun, fun... I don't even remember the trip to the ER, though by that time things had started to normalize.

Thanks for all the well-wishes. :)

I was gonna post that "Call the nurse if you want to get off" GIF but realized A) You are now home, B) Depending on the nurse, that just might make matters worse.

(All of mine looked, felt and sounded like Ratched. )

Take care of yourself, kiddo.

Suddenseer is right. I tried to burn the candle on both ends, and all I got was a short wick. Glad your home. Kick back and take it easy. Going to the ER is about as much fun as an o'dark thirty callout to the transmitter, huh?
