Or,
Do you get a little suspicious when a pic in an ad looks like this?
What's wrong with backing up a step, and getting the whole thing?
Those are good rigs BTW.

Your suspicions are probably well-founded.

I would love to have a -751A. Would match the R-71A/R-7000 lineup I currently have in the shack.

It does make one wonder. That being said, most of the time I think it's just someone who doesn't know how to take a picture of their rig, or thinks that that's "good enough," more than anything malicious going on.

But if in doubt, ask for more photos. If they are declined, then I'd probably walk away.

Well,
At least that half of the rig looks good.
I've had several of them,and can't remember why I sold,donated them away.

I kinda agree the guy can't do a photo well. I would certainly ask for some more photos. The photo situation has always been kinda sucko at that site. Not having a web site to link to, and not wanting to link to a photo host, it would be nice to be able to post three or four photos on a listing instead of only one.

I've never used their site so I don't know if there is an issue that lies in the way it displays a photo that may take up too much area. It would be kind of funny though if the unseen part of the radio was demolished like the Collins gear I've seen for sale out of Israel on Ebay.

Is it a "minty" radio?

"One owner from new" perhaps?

Keeping the 'for sale' discussion going....single-boxed "with lots of bubble wrap" vs double-boxed: Which is more likely to survive a cross-country trip? And would bubble wrap alone be sufficient to ensure a radio such as the -751 would arrive undamaged?

Double boxed, and bubble wrap, lot's of it.
There needs to be enough packing where the inner box can't move, and the item itself needs to be tightly packed.

Object of value wrapped with bubble wrap, put in box and cut down for a snug fit. Bubble wrap the outside of this inner box.
If it's about 10 lbs or less, choose an outer box that is 2-3" larger in all dimensions (again you can cut down to size). Double that if heavier.

Now the fun part... put enough plastic peanuts in the bottom to float the bubble wrapped inner box a little bit above the middle, and center it. Add more peanuts to the sides, and pack them tightly. Add enough peanuts to the top so you have to squish the flaps down, and tape it shut. The plastic peanuts work best compressed, suspending the valuables so they can't move.

Minimum 25lb burst strength outer box to handle the tension.

How badly would you like one? ;)

Got one that'll be double-boxed and actually arrive at my shack undamaged?

Check your PMs again, if you haven't done so lately.

I'm interested in that rig...
