I stumbled on this during a Google search . I wonder if they'd let us do an operating event from there ? And whether St. Simons Island has an IOTA number ? Seems a perfect spot for a swarm of gnat bastards to spend a coupla days .

St. Simons Island has an IOTA listing:

Sounds like it would be the perfect place for us. I wonder if it would be possible to set up an event?

I plan to be in the Philadelphia area March, April, early May. Might work for me to take a run down. Been there about 5 years ago, nice, laid back place. Will hit Charleston & Savanna http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/3140/midnight.png too of course.

Hey Chaz, you comin?

Oh, are those the frequencies where the denziens tell you if you don't like it, you can shove a broomstick straight up your asterix?

Hello.

27.185MHz or 146.520MHz, in the San Antonio area we can not tell them apart. ;)
To really frustrate them I may pick something on 220 and QSY.
Most modern rigs can Receive there but few can Transmit. ;)
That or go AM on 2 meters.
Moral of the story is to operate multi-mode multi-band.
10 meters is easy, but FM?
160 AM?
For 10 an old commercial rig works well and is cheap.
For 160 any of the old marine radios is a cheap and easy option.
I can have both radios complete with antennas for under $100.
This is for used everything including the antennas.

Ooops. Sorry, forgot about him. Change that to "straight up your ashtabula"

If it's good enough for the PG13 rating of A League of Their Own, it's good enough for me!

Depends on how much $$$ when the time rolls around. Dayton will be rolling around about that time and again, depends on the funds. Not that I've ever been to Dayton but it resides in the background. In years past, work always said eff-NO!

You will probably be coming down closer to the coast than the Piedmont area. I recall your last trip to the Lowland.
