Since putting my new wire in the trees, I have been having a blast recalling all the fun that is radio. Working barefoot, phone and digital, I have wandered from Asiatic Russia, through the Balkans and Mediterranean, through both Western Europe and Western US, even into Australia and South Africa.

So far, there have been more threats of getting on the air than actual contacts.

Anybody gonna DO any radio? 8)

I keep looking for you, Albi. I was on 20m, 30m, and 40m, both phone and PSK for hours yesterday. No joy. I don't do CW, although I'm trying to learn.

I have rigs parked on 6925.0 USB, 14.275.0 USB, 27.165 AM and 27.385 LSB at the moment.

Oh, you meant amateur radio. :shifty:

There were several nights back in spring which witnessed a bunch of us Islanders getting together on 75M. Summer thunderstorms and their associated static put the kibosh to that.

This time last year I tried to get ahold of Doug, W5GA on 10M during a sporadic E event. We heard each other...barely.

I've even worked 'PT on 75M - right lengthy QSO and have the card to prove it.

My work scheudule puts me in night owl status to most, but SunMonTues are normal days off. How about tonight or tomorrow? 75 meter phone has been pretty good these recent mornings. Certainly digital and/or CW if that doesn't work.

If I remember to login, I can be poked at via MSN Messenger.

I'll happy to work any band; "nightowl" status for someone in CO might make it a bit dicey for an OF like me in MD, but I'm game. I am on 14.070.+ right now on digital -- can move up as needed right now and I will put the bullshit video call sign on the air to make it easier.

As for phone, I can work 75 if I can hear. My 'tenna is right low, but CO should be off the broad side pretty much. Let's all try for a sked of some sort. There is no rush, although I am leaning on 68. ;)

That'll be past midnight for me. Maybe we can set something for tomorrow?

I can accommodate a sked around 9ish tomorrow evening. '3N and I can usually work each other without a problem on 75 at that hour and you're not that far from Jim.

Count me in. Send me a freq or vicinity of the band and I will listen for y'all.

You should join us -- I really need DE confirmed somewhere along the line. I've had a bunch of DE QSOs and nobody ever confirms!

As opposed to UTs?

I actually had a few of those operators' chairs. Heavy suckers. Kind of a dark maroon or burgundy color. No casters -- just fixed metal pads. The seats all needed re-caning. I redid one but decided it was too much of a PITA to re-cane them all. They fetched a good price at a garage sale, even without seats.

I had a couple of pairs of those old bakelite headsets...could only take about 15 minutes of that!

Pirata.

Pirates.

The Rodent Revolution.

Etc.

Don't worry; I have enough spare receivers to accommodate it.

And 14.275? You Drama Queen..... :yuck:All I hear at this time is a steady carrier from nearby networking equipment, so I guess I'll have to tune elsewhere. Maybe the Marconi Net?

That's ninish Eastern Time? I'll give it a try but it will still be daylight here and I don't get all that well on 75m anyhow.

I will not be joining whatever group decides to get together @ 9 tonight. I will be planted squarely in front of the boob toob for Boardwalk Empire on HBO.

If anyone is still around @ 10, I will attempt to make an appearance.
