But you've been conspicuously absent from the airwaves...

I'm game, but I don't get out well on 75m--my antenna is too short and too low. 20m during the day or 40m at night works best for me but I'll give 75/80m a try if that's what everyone else wants.

Which part of the reason that all of my radios have a hard time tuning above 3800 on that band.

Well.... that and I'm not interested in hearing the ramblings of the wacko Right in this country..... ;)

We've been married so long she doesn't talk to me any more.

W1GUH and W3MIV will entertain QSOs on Sunday morning at 0800 EDT. 7255 ECARS. Paul will be mobile; I will be in the basement. He in CT, I in MD.

We can move to a clear (semi-clear?) frequency once linked, and I can post it here once established.

Plan to be involved. Be nice to put voices to the posts for anyone in reach. I realize that the PA QSO Party will be working on 7.2 at that time, but we should be able to make it work without interfering with them by moving up.

Stay up, then it'll be late and not early. What are you, a man or a worm? Besides, I need DE for WAS -- amazing how hard it is to work anybody in DE.

OK, follow along with me on this one, Albi. I can :

A) Stay in a warm bed with a nice, curvy, warm body next to me.

B) Get out of said warm bed, go into the chilly shack (waking said warm, curvy body in the process and suffering the consequences), and talk to a bunch of old men.

Gee, there's an tough choice......... :chin:

I think Albi was suggesting not even going to bed until after the sked :) Then you avoid the "climbing out of warm bed, waking warm body". Of course, it's still to talk to a bunch of old men :)

But SUCH a bunch of old men. If you had chance to speak with Voltaire, Franklin, Darwin, Einstein, Albertus Magnus and Michelangelo Buonorotti, would you call them just a bunch of old men?

Feel free to use my MO if you like:
Nudge her suggestively, hinting at a early morning round of trick rodeo sex. Then when she runs your ass out of the bedroom, you'll find the warmth and familiarity of a bunch of old farts refreshing.
Works for me.

I'll be on 7255 this morning at 0800, as threatened. I am also planning to work through the rest of the PA contest. I still need about 18 or 19 counties.

Now have an idiot who does not own a dummy load -- perhaps he IS a dummy load -- tuning up. Probably one of the ECARS dufuses. Jerks.

No contact having been established, I will monitor for a bit.

Well I am curious about how many were able to hook up this morning. I could never hear anybody that I recognized the call of. I moved over to 7070.15 and called CQ and got an answer so I had a 20 minute rag chew QSO with a guy out in Iowa.

None were able to hook up. As a test when Paul (GUH) suggested the link-up, I had no trouble connecting with ECARS net control in Vermont on 7255. I was working barefoot; at that time, I heard a number of CT mobiles checking in to that net, so I think the link-up was possible. I believe he might have had his hands full working CW or a keyboard mode while driving to a hamfest, so we planned phone. ;)

Of course, after the start of the QSO party, things changed and the band got a lot busier -- especially since 75/80 and 40 were the only practical bands for the operation of the contest, at least, in so far as phone was concerned.
