So, this question came up in another ham radio forum:
What is the "recommended" distance for stand offs for ladder line from metal?
I thought I read somewheres it was 12 or 18".... However, I was pretty sure I was not entirely accurate.
So, for the fine gents here: What is the distance you should run ladder line away from metal?

There's fine gents here?

Ok smartasses, the question is open to everyone. Why would I exclude myself from it's target audience

okay, if you put it that way. According to this site (http://www.athensarc.org/ladder.asp), the ARC of Athens, TX:
The general rule is twice the width of the line.
3355One foot is plenty. Just make them out of pvc pipe. Mine are painted with flat black outdoor grill paint so they melt faster during our frequent ice storms
