Hey Ren, we probably passed within 50' of each other if the timing came out like I think it might have. I was on 85N between 4:30PM and 5:30PM. Maybe up till 6PM. You were in the bug truck with the big carrot over the cab?

And I am here. Beautiful downtown Shalimar FL.I spent a week there one day, and I live nearby. Fine dining in Shalimar consists of the Burger King, the Tropical Smoothie, the Sonic, and the Cheers pub.

I will have to take the bunny to dinner at someplace where you can actually get something decent to eat. I have been in touch, the wife and I will make sure he has one decent dinner.

Didn't the season change up there today? LOL! I am told that in some places, the season changes in a day. At my locale we can still get days in December that get into the sebenties. Of course, last few years we've been getting some really cold stretches into the second week of Dec. Down to the 10's.

Same here. In fact, it seems like the weather is pretty much the same here all year long. It gets a little cooler in the winter. Rains a bit in January-February-March. Usually gets hot in September, although not so far this year. That's about it. I guess it's nice, but it gets kind of monotonous after a while. The XYL and I like to take off-season vacations to places where it gets cold.

Come here in January, it gets cold enough to freeze your petunia off. -30, although not normal, isn't a big eyebrow raiser.
Chuck another piece of buckskin into the wood stove.

Been there in January; you're right, it's cold. But, west of the Mississippi, Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska have you beat for winter misery.

Just 200 miles northeast on the eastern side of the divide it's brutal cold. Not unusual to have a very mild, open winter with almost no snow and above freezing temps here.

Any nice beaches? Another few weeks and It'll be colder than hell here.Yes, contrary to news reports, the waters here are clean and oil free, and the natives are more than friendly. Ren had a long day today and sent me an e-mail. Laura and I hope to meet him before he heads back to Maryland, but Uncle Sam is working him to death, trying to get their money's worth for all that TDY money, no doubt.

Mountains are already about done with the "colors" I'm told. We're still getting 80+ in Denver most days, but had the furnace on last Saturday (and then the swamp cooler in the afternoon). This is the time of year where I'll go in the basement and wonder why it's 90 degrees down there. Swamp cooler blowing on the thermostat for the furnace.
