They sure are. The end proves that you should look before you leap.

There was a cat burglar in my old neighborhood who found that out too. One leap too many as the cops were chasing her on the rooftops at 2:30 AM... Kersplat!

I think they've watched Trinity in the Matrix one time too many. And for the wrong reason!

reminds me of the joke about the 2 acrobats that were engaged to be married. Everything was going along fine till she broke it off.

Seems a bit cruel to leave him just hanging there. Wonder how long his fingers held out?

Right up until he found out how hard the concrete was under him.

All they needed to do was have the other guy go down to the street under the window and let the guy drop on him while he spun him right or left to deflect the down force. Once deflected, the deflectee could spin and roll to a safe contact with the ground.
I survived enough down hill bicycle wrecks at speed as a child to figure this out.

Hello.

I would bounce around like that, sometimes from a 5 to 15 story building to another.
Cat burglar? perhaps, but that is now all out the window. ;)

Hello.

Insane fits best, but.
At one time I was fascinated by both cat burglars as well as fiction and so learned how to jump a roof very well.
Most of this was in Europe where the buildings are very close together.
Later, San Antonio was the backdrop, where the downtown buildings shared a roofline.
Alleyways of the older buildings were narrow, perhaps 8 feet from building to building so this was easy.
Now buildings are this curtain wall construction, smooth and bland.
But, buildings are bigger and air conditioned.
Any building over about 5 stories will have a mechanical room floor.
The WTC was a very visible example, you can see the rings of the mechanical rooms.
Anyhow, that is the access.
Hotels will have a laundry room duct, to vent the odors away from guests.
All buildings of size will have some sort of curb level access for utilities, a transformer vault, a water vault, perhaps a lift station for sewage.
All buildings of size will have some sort of public access for tenants.
Remember that just because you are over 50 this does not mean it will stop you, it just means you have to rethink things.
And, Take nothing but Information!

Hello.

Actually I grew up in an era when kids did things, you know, Outside.
Although jumping from building to building must sound insane in this day and age, we did it!
I would never even consider white water rafting, it was never in my element.
But, 'Leap of faith', that was.
Kind of like a 9 year old kid running a tractor, something I grew up with.
para-sailing, take an old surplus parachute and pull it behind a truck with a long rope, cheap thrills!
My fascination with the flying man thing was likewise based on cheap childhood adventures.

What has changed is technology and my age.
There is no way that I could jump, leave alone from one ledge to another, at this age.
But the strap on glider has improved, 90 to 1 glide ratio is reality as well as active control surfaces, perfect!
And I still drive big trucks and tractors, and play radio.
Most kids now do very little except video games and eat fast food.
