Just got back from some "cow on a bun" a bit ago. Kinda interesting how the cultural thing plays out. Actually work with a recent Indian immigrant and he's a total vegan. Weighs more than I do. How the....? :wtf:

Seriously, I don't want to see Lassie splayed out for Kim Jong Ill nor do I want to see Granny done up in the same manner.
Unless you actually practice eating Rover or Daisy that is. Rover and Daisy are family, just like Granny.

Somehow a plate of roast dog doesn't sound too appetizing to me.

For some interesting eats, watch Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel.

Seen the guy eat all kinds of things that most Americans consider pets or vermin. Guinea pigs, cow udders, ears, bats, grubs, snake and other critters that defy description.

I would be willing to try most anything once. Some of the native foods up here are pretty strange. Fermented beaver tail, black meat with seal oil, muktuk and eskimo ice cream are interesting to try. I cannot get past the smell of the black meat and seal oil though.

I'm sure I've eaten horse, mule, and maybe dog/cat in Mexico during my many travels down there.
German shepherd burritos are a delicacy.

While visiting a friend in Montana I had the pleasure of eating fresh shot Canada Goose meat that was marinated (not cooked with heat) in herbs and some acidic fluid, maybe lemon juice or vinegar?
It was almost black dark purple/maroon. One of the best culinary experiences I ever encountered.

I know a Mexican Schaeferhund that considers gringo burritos a delicacy.

No joke. I've seen that show. Kinda leads one to believe that our eating habits are based more on cultural mores than what the body will handle. We are afterall, mere animals.

I love that show, Andrew Zimmern is another crazy Minnesotan. I really dig the insect and shellfish dishes.

Andrew Zimmern

Those sensationalist types will do anything for a buck. If he was a woman and couldn't stand the thought of eating that stuff she'd be pimping her ass in the barrio.
