The new beers must have been made from Gulf water. They have sludge on the bottom of the bottle. ;) Question is, Do I leave the sludge alone or is it made to be mixed up into solution before drinking? This stuff is like 10.5% alkyhaul. Ought to make for a good ass whoopin'.

depends on the beer and age. bottle conditioning leaves some sediment. Sometimes when a big, full bodied beer has been on the shelf for a long time you actually get hard deposits in the bottom of the bottle.
I'm on a New Belgium Ranger IPA kick right now, pretty good for summer IPA.

Don't mix it up, but it won't hurt you to drink it either. It's just yeast left over from the krausening kräusening process that carbonates the beer in the bottle.

Be careful. It's probably radicalized semen placed there by that guy who inseminates water bottles.

Some Hefeweizens & Wits are supposed to be heavily cloudy. I remember seeing a New Belgium product that said pour half the bottle then swirl the rest to mix in the sediment before pouring the second half.

The three with the Goo are:
Southern Tier Imperial Gemini blended unfiltered ale
Southern Tier Imperial Iniquity black ale
Weyerbacher Slam Dunkel double dunkelweizen ale
Non Goo:
Coney Island Freaktoberfest
Nogne "O" India Pale Ale (Norway)
Nogne "O" #100 Barley Wine - style ale (Norway)
That is yeast sediment on the bottom of the bottles. It happens when beer is carbonated the old fashioned way. It is considered best not to mix it up, but you can drink it when you reach the bottom of the bottle if you wish. Great source of B vitamins.

I'm not big on barleywine but some are quite good.
The temperatures are very important, if you drink these beers very cold you'll miss half the mouth party.

That's a crock. Suicide levels at the Foxconn plant are actually lower than in Chinese society as a whole. And, BTW, Foxconn also builds stuff for HP, Dell, Lenovo and just about every other major consumer electronics company you can think of.
Not that Foxconn's management is a bunch of swell guys or anything--they're not, they're a bunch of thugs and I wish Apple still built it's products in the U.S. and Europe but there's no way they could do that and be competitive at all.

Of course. Americans cannot pronounce the most common German bier terms. "Bräu" is mispronounced "brow" -- as in "Lowenbrow" or "Huffbrow" -- so one can imagine how Kräusening would come out. "Bottle conditioned," on the other hand, sounds like something Billy Mays might have bruited in a TV spot.

All a matter of taste, Billhelm. And, in my estimation, champagne and gatorade share many similarities, all bad. Unlike Don Ho, I prefer my wines sans bubbles, tiny or otherwise. Might as well drink Lancers.

No "dirt road" involved, Bill. You like bubbly; I don't. No value judgment in the comment. I put Moet and Lancers on the same shelf: Won't drink either. Pull the cork (or, increasingly, unscrew the cap!!) on a fine cabernet, and I will tilt the balloon with you 'til the edge of the table caresses my eye brows.

No, Bill. I said DUTCH is better than Belgie (IMO). Modern Germany has some excellent biers, but they are now mostly small, local breweries in small towns.
Had that Porterhouse last night. Tried a new butch who is hawking local Angus. Pricey but pretty good. Alas, no cabernet. Iced tea, unsweetened, with a lot of fresh lemon slices and a sprig of fresh mint.
