Shouldn't that read "Canadians: They're special, eh?"

I needed some time sinking today. Did a lot of stuff around the house, then went to Home Depot and the grocery store, then installed a new toilet seat, then was feeling a bit of vertigo so I had to sit down for a while...

Yikes! Vertigo- don't think I've experienced that without knowing what was causing it.

I wouldn't want to fall in a bathroom, must be like falling out of a Magnolia tree. Too much stuff to hit on the way down.

I had BAD vertigo for months after coming back from Thailand. I fell down the stairs at least once, was constantly bumping into things and drove as little as possible. What driving I had to do scared the hell out of me. My doctor said it was from flying. This is something different and I won't know exactly what it is for a bit yet. I know what it probably is and it's kinda scary. Don't really want to talk about it to be honest, not until I know for certain what's going on.

Canadians (Canadiens to the Quebecois) are definitely special. They get that socialised medicine that we're too good for. Besides, if it wasn't for Canada, where would we get Canadian bacon? Or Ovaltine, eh? :_

More or less. Much nicer bunch of people, in my experience.

Except for the customs agents.

I've only had issue with the US customs agents. Never the Canadian ones. But, I'll assume it's largely dependent on location. Niagara Falls has lots of tourism, so they may be nicer. And the US customs people live in Buffalo, so they are probably detoxing since they haven't had a drink in about 6 hours

Niagara Falls is exactly where I used to cross regularly since I was "proverbial knee high", both at the Rainbow Bridge and the Queenston-Lewistown bridge. Sometime in the 80's the agents became very young and very...what term did Irb use?...oh, yea imperious and straight-laced. Last time (and it will be the last time) when the Canadian customs agent asked me what I was going to Michigan for and I answered "vacation" I got looked at like she wanted to waterboard me. Huh? Vacations are suspicious. Not to mention, why does Canada care what a US citizen is going to do once back in the US? But these comments are only about the customs agents, or rather, the policies they're obligated to follow. So maybe I should have said, well no maybe about it, that it's the guys who formulate customs policies that are real pricks. Damn shame...time was crossing was very, very easy. Now we gotta have a freaquin passport.

OTOH, coming back into the US has always been easy and friendly. Go figure?!
