Hello All;
My first post, so don't beat me up.
I have a 2 element, 3 band (20-15-10) quad from Cubex that I enjoy.
I wonder what others think of quads? Any users out there?

John,
Welcome aboard!
I wish I had the space to put up a 5-band/3-element-per-band quad. Over the years I've worked a number of folks who used quads and almost every one has definitely been satisfied with the performance. We used to play around on 10 with converted CB band quads and they worked very well.

I've never used one but I am curious.
Is it bi-polarized?

Mine is mounted so that the spreader arms are X-shaped, which makes the wires a square. To quote the book on quads by William Orr:
"when the quad loop is fed at the bottom the points of maximum current occur in the two hirizontal wires. The current flowing in the vertical wires is considered to be out of phase, and the radiated field is correspoindingly small. Even so, a small vertically polarized field exists around these wires."
