Better check any wireless mics you own. The FCC has decreed that after June 12, 2010 all wireless mics operating in the 700mhz, actually 698 to 806 mhz even though it's called the 700mhz band, are illegal and must cease to be used.
I'm sure the place you bought it will now refund your money.:irked:

Don't think it will matter much out here in the sticks.

You might interfere with one of those "public service" radios, shame on you!
I can't remember for sure but it seems like those older wireless mics operating in this band were limited to 50 milliwatts max?
I doubt any of the "public service" radios would know you were around. The old mics are analog and the new radios are digital.

Maybe we could create a giant federal coupon program to subsidize transverters for the existing equipment .......

Warranty doesn't cover acts of God, otherwise known as the FCC.
Actually,.every time I see the title of this thread, I think of a certain NSFW scene from The Naked Gun.
Suffice to say it involved Leslie Nielsen and what happens after he neglects to turn a wireless mike... off.

Hello.
At 10,000 microvolts/meter at 3 meters with an antenna no longer than 1 meter in the 49.82 to 49.90 MHz, I wonder how much power that really is?

I've got a couple that were given to me but they're infrared, not RF. Never used them and have no idea which box they're packed away in at this time.

No, before that.
Ed (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001421/): You want to take a dinghy?
Frank (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000558/): No, I took care of that at the press conference.
