Tiz not he who wins the minds of many I wish to hear, but rather the one who has the few, for his is much more likely worth the listening.

Ahhhhhh...the Pachelbel canon. I may have been an accomplice in it's popularity. I first heard it in '74 way before it became "hip." WNCN was a NY classical FM station then (anyone remember Bill Watson? Totally great classical DJ - extremely witty and intelligent and passionate man) and the (now defunct, I believe) Musical Heritage Society advertised by sending you a free record of the a Fasch trumpet concerto if you joined.

So I joined and got the record. The Fasch was OK, but the first cut on the other side was the Pachelbel canon. I loved it and played it for everyone I could, and THEY also loved it, especially the ladies.

Next thing I knew, it was all the rage (what movie was it the theme song for? Something with pompous Alan Alda, I believe.)

Pity it became so faddish. Had to stop liking it for a while til the hoopla tailed off....
Vote third party. Voting Democratic or Republican is wasting your vote. Vote for any 3rd party of your choce. None will win in the near future -- the objective is to have an election where the aggregate third party vote makes 'em take notice. Seems the only legal means of overthrowing our awful government.

I too first heard it on a classical music radio station circa 1974/75. Haven't stopped liking it since.
