While planning to put this Mosley CL-33 beam up in the air soon, I came across the Cushcraft A627013S 6m/2m/440 beam antenna. I think this will be a good addition.

1. Any experience with the Cushcraft A627013S?
2. Can I put this antenna on the same mast as the CL-33? If so, how far up the mast should this antenna be?

Yes, I'd say about a half wave above at the lowest frequency should be enough to minimize the ground plane effect. BTW, I know a guy who stacked a 20-15-10M 3el, 6M 6el and 2M 22el upside down, not only looks stupid but the mast is bent where it exits the sleeve at the top of the tower. Funny thing, he had the Christmas tree in Dec. 1999 QST right side up with my fire bottle on top, look it up if you want to know who he is.

This guideline (http://www.ifwtech.co.uk/g3sek/stacking/stacking2.htm) is what I am going to follow.

Additionally, since my HF antenna is going to be a SteppIR, I am going to be able to retract all of the elements when not in use.

Replace all U Bolts and associated hardware with commercial grade before you put it up. Have had very good luck with CC, very bad luck with their U-Bolts & nuts.

Luke and I put up a Death Array a few years ago and the Ubolts and hardware siezed. Not the first time with CC products.

Even tried anti-siezing compound with the stuff right out of the box.

Other than that, Great Stuff!

For my 4BTV hustler vertical, I bought home depot U bolts. They actually have a decent selection. Stainless steel too.

Hows that workin out for you? Got enough radials down?

Receive is awesome. It's very quiet compared to the dipole/doublet.

I have 16 radials on 20, 16 on 40, 8 on 10 (I need more on 10).

I have to buy another roll of wire to put some more radials. However, a roll of wire is like $30.

My transmit signal is good. Not great like a beam, but good.

The HD bolts are great. I used that for the radial plate (DX Engineering) and I used the DX engineering clamp for the choke current balun.

My feedline is cheap radioshack coax right now. I got some LDF2 3/8" Heliax over the weekend, so I am going to replace my lossy coax with that.

Okay, my 4BTV just got more awesome today - I just worked 3B7C on 40m with it. They are pretty loud here.

I must say, they are a very classy dxpedition, unlike scaffold reef which was just complete chaos.

The Cushcraft antenna is front heavy because of the mounting position, and that position cannot be changed. Suppose I set the 10-15-20 meter beam back to 'balance' out the Cushcraft antenna... viable option?

10 foot mast, 10-15-20 meter beam just above the rotor, and the Cushcraft at the top of mast.

I have found that half the boom length of the lower antenna is a sufficient distance as to not cause any problems.
