I liked the flying machine but the dung beetle reminded me of teh Zeds.

Here's the flying machine again, pictures crudely stitched together by me.
It was a Sunday visit to the RAF museum at Cosford in Shropshire.
The plane looks to be made from beech with metal fixings and would have been covered in cambric or canvas doped with shellac. The red toolbox is not part of the flight kit!

Tucked behind this is a German, plywood fighter plane.
We went to the museum to see the start of restoration on a Handley-Page Hampden bomber, similar to one my father flew in, rescued from a swamp in Russia.
