In a trial program, AMTRAK is giving some passengers $100 in free drinks. Right now it is being experimented on three runs. Just another reason to take the train.:D

it's a promo they're offering on long distance runs.

if they announced that sort of credit whenever they had a two hour delay it'd be free booze all day long!

Man I could have used that about 25 years ago when the station in Henderson was still alive and had a couple of friends who lived in Alexandria,Va.
Get off work at 5p...ride bike to station...
hop the train at 6...head for the bar car... get off at 930 or 10..walk to their apartment...
have more beer...crash on the couch...Head into DC and do the musuem thing..
drink beer..crash on couch..
drink beer...get train at 6p...sleep til 9p...
get off train...ride bike back to house....
back to sleep..back to work.
Dem was good times.
