Pick it bro, whatever floats yer boat.
Let's see how 40 is doing.
I'd say 75m but I need an antenna for that.
Please QRX while I look for a frequency.
Okay I'm looking at 7.212 and it seems clear...
I'm listening out there.

Okay, I will follow your lead, whatever you want to try, PSK31 on 20m may not be out of the question. Is PSK31 still allowed on 40m BTW? I NEVER hear any activity there anymore. :-?
Gonna nuke some pizza and head for the shack.
Okay maybe not. I think it's too close to an ongoing QSO.
Make it 7275.

Coolies, we are getting closer! ;)
Okay Ryan and thanks again for trying!
You're quite welcome, Tom.
I think the biggest problem right now is that we both don't have very good stations.
Anyway, you are also welcome on skype or echolink anytime. I'm not anti-VoIP.
besides the bands being total crapola right now, we have solar flairs messing things up, dam good for uhf vhf though,,,,,,,

I run 25-30 watts into the dipole, as there may be some gain involved, but I doubt it.

Jammer? No problem here ... notch filter cut him out. I had all stations at S9 or better, only light copy was Mark, but after his first couple of transmissions, he was fine. Paul was solid, especially considering the distance between us, Tom was quite loud. No problems here. I can't figure what went wrong on 40 meters. Never heard Ryan, heard Tom briefly, then the bottom fell out.
That's going to be our biggest challenge, figuring which band to try this on. If conditions are something near normal, I think 40 will give the best results, but 75 is going to be better at sunset. And ... 75 meters will go "long" quickly some nights. I've seen signals drop from 60 over S9 to S5 in < 30 minutes before!
Enjoyed meeting everyone! Great to hear everyone's voice. Paul doesn't sound at all like a neocon, and Tom doesn't sound like the janitor, either. I think you guys have been pulling my leg ...
Okay guys, add +10db to your signal reports from me. I just realize I had the attenuator on, -10db...
I notched out the jammer as well, but I figured I'd let him know that he was an insignificant cowardly piece of crap in not so many words...
yep i'm the farthest away, and the storms are less than a 100 miles from me, but we'll keep up this sunday thing if everyone agrees,, good hearing everyone also,,,,,,,,

I can't even remember the last time that it rained here. I'm pretty sure we are going on 4 or 5 weeks now. I'm pretty sure it was a week or so before our almost three weeks at over 100 degrees since it last rained. Well I suppose my property value is holding steady now against the neighbors who actually have lake lots as, there is no longer a lake there, just a nice new bridge that spans a little brook that babbles through the middle of a huge pasture. Temps have held steady at mid to upper 90’s though for this past week so we are enjoying the cold snap. I haven't seen it this bad since we moved here ten years ago. Well, at least I haven't had to mow the grass for about a month now........ every cloud has it's silver lining........
What the hell is a cloud anyway?

Well the talking heads at The WX Channel are playing it safe though….. 30%, which around these parts means forget it…. ain’t a happenin.
Rain here too. Possibly the outer bands of Hurricane Dean that Marty Fouts knows all about.

There's one in every crowd. I attended at T-1 training class back in '06 and there was one guy who knew EVERYTHING. Always running at the mouth, acting like he was the instructors assistant, spouting off about this and that.
Then came the practical portion of the class.
He and his partner dicked with his system for better than a half hour trying to troubleshoot it. My partner and I had ours up and running in 10 minutes.
Mr. Know-It-All was pretty damn quiet after that...

sorry for no commas do not see them on my cell keypad
I can live with this limitation
The shrimp scampi was excellent as always
, found themselves commas.
What cellphone is that? I have a treo 700p and it has a comma, just need to press another key first (the one with the big dot).
I called a few times, no reply...
What do you use in your car? The 706 and a hamstick?
N1LAF
08-31-2007, 09:47 PM
The car I have the 706 and the Iron Horse whips, coupled with a LDG auto tuner.
Cell phone, I have the Mogul by HTC, has EVDO, Windows Mobile version 6, Internet Explorer, Blue tooth, WiFi, networks, etc..
The comma was in blue, and since I was in a darken living room, it was hard to see the blue marked keys. I had a window of opportunity to use the phone..
I put up my 4BTV today, along with some radials. 8 on 10m, 4 on 40m so far. I have a full 500' spool of wire, and I'm gonna put radials until all the wire is done.
Any of you islanders up to give me some reports, let me know.

Yup. The noise level on 40 suddenly got higher last night... I guess now I have my explanation.
I hope to be playing in the shack Sunday evening if anyone is going to be around. I have gotten the 2kw version of the Windom 80 Special up (still no fire to put in the wire as I was robbed on QTH.com and have no tuner to to help out the SB-221). I plan on working on the antenna Mike gave to me to use on 60m as that is the only thing the TS-570D(g)'s tuner cannot handle by itself at the moment (well, except for 160.... obviously, and the top end of 10m). I also have the Donner interface rockin' on BPSK31 with the train wreck of a Compaq if anyone wants to play there too.
We are outta here (the plant) when the wall clocks say 7:30, so we are not going to have to pay attention to Dubyuh's delayed 'fall back' in the morning.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! 8)
