Just like yesterday morning, there is a very nice N-S opening on 10 meters (or at least from my vantage point). I am hearing some very strong Texas stations too. Florida stations seem to be the loudest right now. Yesterday, this opening lasted several hours.

I have the rig parked on 28.430 (@12:54 zulu) if anyone wants to give me a holler. I hope W5IEI sees this ... Mike, the Texas - Va path is very solid at this time. Bill - it may even work from the spud state on 10!

A QSO started up on 28.430, so I'm dialing around. Leave a message here if you want to give it a go on 10 meters, or anywhere for that matter!

I'll be in front of the rig for another 30 or 45 minutes ... till about 1400 zulu.

Edited to correct the zulu time.

I'm going to get back on HF later this evening. The chatter on 10 was that the band stayed open yesterday until after sunset in most places. I'll start there again this evening, after I get some chores done.

Interesting, with all these claims to the growing popularity of CW, that I heard zero QSO's on 10 meters, and no answers to my CQ's on 28.050 and 28.160. I know my signal was acceptable ... I got a S9 + 20 signal report from a fellow in Florida, whle running 75 watts (SSB).

Hope to catch some of you later today!

Sheesh! No HF here tonight. Big T-storms rumbling through here. DirecTv was out, internet was out (DSL), and the power was on and off.

Summertime fun in Richmond! Maybe next Sunday will be better.

And we had one sunspot to enhance our propagation! Just one, mind you!

Well,
When I saw this,I went out to try my new super "all" band antenna system on 10.
I'd for gotten how bad RF burns from the inductor knob hurt!!!

I need to do some grounding, and possibly feedline adjusting before I can work 10.

Severe T-storms last evening for me as well.
Mike
