Thats right folks Ubuntu 9.10 is on the workbench as Alpha-1 is to be released May 14th
I alpha and beta tested 9.04 (which is the current version) and was quite impressed so how many of you will be brave and do some alpha/beta testing?

I'll be busy for a while fixing the upgrade from 8.04 to 9.04 on one of my machines. As much as I love Ubuntu, they obviously do not have the upgrade up to par.
But, neither does Windoze. I remember several attempts to upgrade any ME installation to 2000 or XP.
After I recover my data, I'm going to perform a clean install of Ubuntu 9.04 on that machine. Perhaps when I get all that straight, I'll have a go at 9.10.
The machine that was hosed on that upgrade attempt (8.04 - 9.04) was the only "pure" linux box around here with enough horsepower to run Ubuntu well. I miss the machine already, and it was just this morning I attempted the upgrade.

Fresh install for 9.04 would be better as you can then take full advantage of the EXT4 filesystem

I cant get 9.04 to finish installing. Turned around and downloaded 8.04 and it works. :chin: Not on this pc but my other one. It seems that 9.04 will not install on either computer. I mounted the iso and I am trying to dual boot. I have done so in the past...er this is frustrating.

Nope, I got it. It worked on my grandfathers pc but not on either of mine. Both of mine are newer laptops....The acer is a biitch to run linux on in the first place, it is so picky. That's ok, one PC with windows is ok. Besides, I need windows for schooling purposes, which is why I was gonna dual boot.
