Got tickets and bus passes for me and my wife and motel reservations.
Time to dig this one up! Am going, and likely will be mobile in the Civic so will be radioactive on any and everything except for GHz and 220...... anytime, any mode (yes, that will most likely include PSK31 mobile too, but no, I will NOT be the control op!!!!!), any band..... blah, blah, blah.
But, just as with last year, will very likely be monitoring 60m channel 4, 147.420 simplex (when not on 146.520) and 147.555 P25 digital (unencrypted).
Will likely hit the road between 3am and 6am on Friday morning and will be staying at the crap hole next door to the Drury (Extended Stay America, or Crack Whores R Us, don't remember the name for sure, but I think it's the prior).
PM me for telephone number details if you wish.......

Still a tossup for me. If I get this job the most likely start date will be the 20th(give or take a few days). I will not know what I am doing till last minute.

We'll be in my wife's Jetta so no ham radio...
I'm looking forward to it, had to cancel last year. I'm looking forward to visiting he Air Force Museum while we're there as well.
Wear comfy shoes is all I can say...... and be prepared to spend a good 3 or 4 hours there IF you are not going for detailed and comprehensive...... you will be sufficiently impressed.
Hope to meet you there Audie, you can't miss me, I am the:
fat

Wish I were going. If I were, I would tell you to look for the guy under 25. Actually I really wanted to go this year, not to buy but to finally meet the people that I talk to. 8IVE told me she would put me to work if I show up. :think
1/ 2 way there in less than 5 miles..... thank you Sprint wireless card!

We've arrived at our motel. We're staying right next to the Air Force Base, and we are going to the Air Force Museum Sunday before heading home. Traffic was not bad except for Cincinnati, where it came to a complete stop several times. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I got there early today, bought a set of Taylor 572B's and a Harbach power supply. Walked around and looked at stuff, visited the ARRL's area, checked out the flea market until it started raining. Had seen everything I wanted by around noon and we decided to go do the USAF Museum. Talked to Tom on the phone and we were getting on the bus, so I missed meeting him.
Went to the USAF museum and I have to admit I enjoyed it more than the hamfest. Am now exhausted and we're trying to decide what we want to eat for dinner. We had Korean last night but we might go to a different Korean place tonight since the one last night (Myong) was just OK and didn't have any beer.

Sounds interesting. That's a long trip for a few tubes, a power supply, and some food.

any notable announcements?
any notable announcements?
The Kenwood TS-2000 remains in production for at least 4 more years.
Kenwood is bringing out a new HF rig in 2010.
Flex 5000 now includes 144/430 MHz capacity.
The ProIII has been replaced by the 7700 - this officially from an Icom rep.
Jetstream is looking to introduce a series of VHF/UHF monobanders which will match their 222 MHz mobile.
I'll update this as I remember more...

I thought that the 7600 was the Pro3's replacement?

But...do you know where I can find info on this illusive new kenwood HF rig that I have been awaiting for better than half a decade?
Was fantastic to meet you and the Mrs. there Fred and Audie, sorry I missed you and the 'better half' by mere seconds..... but hey guys, there is always next year!
Charles, you missed a truly cheap and enjoyable weekend. We supped on what we brought and didn't break the bank buying 'poo' we did not need (well, to some degree of which even Sheryl was proud).....

Well, as it turned out Tom, Thursday morning brought about surprise truck repairs. Water pump, $386 and two days later all is well. It was a bit stressful I suppose because the lower right side of my back started to tighten up and hurt like the dickens. Still working that one out.
I noticed the last set of pics on HS, some guys were having a destructo-fest. What was up with that?
If what I'm working on is a success, next year will be big time indeed.

Our friend Steve towed another friend's camper down to a Dayton-area campground with his Dodge pickup. Early Saturday morning, he lost his exhaust and had to spend $$$ to get the truck in decent enough shape to make it back to Hara.
