About all I have tried is Hornsbey's.

Do you have a problem with good beer or wine? Why would you want to drink it? Try Bartles & James or Hawaiian punch if you need something to defile your palate.

Eat a rotting apple, that should be the same.
j/k
The Canadians have something called Okanagan which is really good. If I remember right, it came in either apple or peach.
I don't think I've ever seen it outside of BC.
It would appear that there some around here who do not like hard cider. :)
Hornsby's is about all I can find at the corner store. Will have to pay a visit to the warehouse liquor shop and see if they have anything else.

There are some who rate and discuss hard cider there. It's popular in England. Ratebeer membership is free.
Just ask for availability of hard cider in your area on the forum and someone will probably help you if you don't get a discussion going.

Here's a lineup of what is available planetwide:
opps, looks like you have to enter "hard cider" into the search box in the upper right of the home page on ratebeer. I can't get the right page to hyperlink.
Been searching the site you linked to.
Thanks for the link. Will come in handy. :D

Woodpecker...... there is nothing else, unless you are up to a trip to the UK and then, my friend, there is a selection like you cannot even imagine.
Gonna hit the warehouse liquor store tomorrow and see what they have.

Hornsby's is an Earnest and Julio Gallo product outta California.
Well the Brown Jug warehouse store up here carries Woodchuck and Hardcore in addition to Hornby's.
Bought a 6 pack of Woodchuck Amber to try over the weekend.
Will have to check out a couple of the other larger shops in town to see if they carry anything non-domestic.
I have 4 hours till I am on vacation for 30 days. Planning on some serious fishing with a refreshing beverage or two during that time.
Saw some interesting beers from across the pond at the store today. Will have to give some of them a try.

Lemme know if you need any help.... always willing to help a bro out.
Well I can say that Woodchuck is far better than Hornsby's.
Much smoother and nowhere near as sweet.
Finished off the six pack last night, now I have to go find another brand to taste test.

It sounds like most of your vacation will be spent testing various festive refreshments. The rest of your vacation will likely be wasted. ;)

Why yes, if he's lucky, it, errr, he certainly will be. ;)
I am a good boy. I drink, but limit or pace myself so that I do not get drunk.
I like to get bombed, but the last time I had anything like Hard Cider it was Boone's Farm. That cured me.
;)
I'm waiting to see what the mavens here come up with. I'd like another go at getting bombed on Apples.
Well here is a report on the ones I have tried so far.
Hornsby's Amber- Ok cider, a bit too sweet and a touch of a harsh aftertaste.
Woodchuck Amber- Very nice and smooth. Great apple flavor and not too sweet. Those boys in Vermont have a good thing going.
Hardcore- Harsh, bitter, not much of an apple flavor coming through. Tastes like a light beer with a hint of apple juice tossed in.
More to come as I find them...

Well, I got freaking hammered this past Saturday night after visiting the joke of a FD our club was putting on. I very seldom do this, maybe once every year or two but I must admit, it was fun. After six pints of Half and Half...... I almost swapped over to Woodpecker Cider, but opted for three bottles on Coors Light instead. Why you ask? Easy, Half and Half is for the pure pleasure of drinking fine beers in combination and is not for guzzlin'. It was 5 minutes til closing time and I can put away 3 bottles of Coors Light where I would have only been able to finish up one more pint. ;)
Found some Woodpecker Cider last night!
A friend told be about a liquor store that carried a large variety of ciders so I drove on over and took a look. They must have 8 or 9 different varieties in the cooler. Grabbed some Woodpecker and gave it a try last night.
It is the best so far. Smooth, crisp, and a great flavor that keeps you coming back for more.
I could get in trouble with this stuff.

It' called "Scrumpy" and it was the custom to throw in a dead rat or mice hence the meat. A West Country postman I met used to drink the stuff every day in the middle of his round by bicycle. One day he was found upside-down in a ditch and the letters were scattered everywhere. He was carted off to hospital, X-rayed and, among other things, it was found that his brain had shrunk at an unusually fast rate.
Ernie was immediately retired, he still managed to down his scrumpy in spite of Doctor's orders. I haven't heard from him for a long time.
The use of Scrumpy abounds here, quite obviously.
Is your last name "Jass"?

The last time I tried scrumpy, it was cloudy, slightly green and very greasy, obviously not left to mature for long enough. The experience was like being struck by lightning, apparently you know afterwards that something has changed permanently but are not quite sure what.
Cider sales in the British Isles have dropped this year so the cider makers will be keen to export. The readily available cider (on draught and in bottles) is Strongbow. It's dry, strong and NOT scrumpy, Health & Safety would ban addition of meat if they found it. I imagine that if the meat had rotted and joined the other sludge no-one would be any the wiser though.

hornsby's is yucko. i think it's intended for younger drinkers who "need" a sweeter beverage. places i've gone here in s.f. which serve cider don't have the toroids to tell you they're serving you *pear* cider ... which (in my book) is like asking for an unsweetened iced tea and getting one of those mango iced teas.
in my book strongbow is decent stuff. my favorite watering hole here used to carry it but since i don't get my firewater that way lately they no longer seem to have it available (can't believe i was the only person there drinking the stuff).
Found a great local cider up here over the weekend.
Buddy took me to a cafe that serves lots of local micro brews. On tap this month they have the Managers Irish Cider. Ordered up a pint and OH MY!!! This is some awesome stuff! Downed a pint in short order and had another before we left.
I could get in some serious trouble with that stuff. May have to buy a growler before the month is over.
