thinking of adding a small homebrew amp to my 12/10 m moble ham set up, do I have to istal it so I can't jus t flip a switch or 2 and bring the amp inline with the Cb that shares this current setup? It was not clear to exactly under the older rules and then they changed a few rule in part 97
I am not looking to use use the cb and amp together but since the cb and ham radio share a anttena and tuner set up it would easier to instal thing so it could be done

Use a coax switch to select which radio you want to use, and put the amp after the switch and before the antenna. Just run the CB straight through the amp without it powered up. When you want to go HF, switch to the HF radio, and turn on the amp.

If the 10/12m radio is separate from the 11m rig, just use an antenna switch. Tune the antenna for 11m. Put the amp and antenna tuner on the 10/12m radio. As long as the amp is not directly connected inline or via switch to the 11m rig, then I do not believe there is any legal problem. I might be wrong but I don't think so. Just make sure the amp is not between the antenna and switch to the 11m radio.
If you are uncomfortable with the situation, then you might consider just adding an 11m antenna and running the 2 systems completely separate with no common connections.

Still puzzles me when folks get their cotton pickin' ham... whoops... "HAM" ticket and remain loyal to CB to the point that they get their nuts in a knot when anyone pokes fun at CB in any way. What is this, dood... some sort of new Political Correctness you are are trying to introduce to us?

Just shootin from the hip, my guess would be, as long as you continue to take the bait, they will continue to taunt. It's a bit like the smart assed comments with regard to other sites and forums, yeah, I took the bait and made my statement, just to show that I am paying attention, but, to continue to allow it to escalate to another level just because the offending poster obviously wants to taunt and troll for an altercation, I will not give them the satisfaction. I like CB. CB is a fine radio service with skilled, knowledgeable, and courteous operators.

My daughter actually cried one time last year when I picked her and her friends up at the theater in the hammie mobile...... there was a Hamsexy 2006 Dayton sticker on the back window and one of her friends saw it. My daughter wouldn't have a clue what CB is, but, she does know that amateur radio means entirely too many aerials on a car that does not have red and or blue lights and sirens mounted on it....... read my bio on the Zed.
Oh, and I don't have all of my teeth, but, then again, many off us are minus our wisdom teeth...... glad you got to keep yours. ;)

To answer your question about what if a Chickenbander came on here and bashed ham radio --- I wish one would! It would be effin' HILARIOUS! For one thing, it would be chock full of comically misspelled words, and probably written in all upper or all lower case.
