I just bought a HAM on eBay. What's the best way to ask for a break on the 20 meters channel? And what are the channel numbers on 20 meters HAM? My channel selector don't have no channel numbers, just long numbers and decimal points and whatnot. I can't get nobody to come back to my radio check. What am I doing wrong?

Perhaps you should ask K7FE.

If he's one of those hambones over on QueeRZ.com I ain't going to ast him because they get all uppity if you don't sign HAM call numbers. God gave me a name not call numbers.

Your parents gave you a name.

But they didn't give me HAM call numbers. What's the use a using HAM numbers if folks call you by your name anyways? I don't want to use HAM numbers so I souldn't have to send away for a license right? How much do a license cost anyways?

And I would bet that the callsign you were assigned is K3XR. Hi Danny!

Is anybody going to answer my question. I can't get out on my HAM. And nobody coming back to me. Would it work better if I put a outside antenna on it? So far I'm just useing the one thats buillt in on the inside. It supposed to talk on the 80 40 20 15 and 10 meters HAM channels. Any help would be apreciated.

All hammies know that all hammie radios have to be activated. To do this you have to put the radio in a preheated oven [350 degrees] for 3 hours. If you add liquid smoke the time can be shortened to 2 hours.
See this jump starts the smoke process. All hammie radios run on smoke so this must be done.
As an alternative you can turn the power switch on and off 2 million times. This small current surges from this will, over time, do the same thing.
Good luck with it and please let us know how it turns out.

We should really tell him about the SWRs... :D
Sounds like pepe is related to skippy.
no no no...do not listen to that last elmer wanna be.....the problem is that you bought a dirty used radio.....probably from a heavy smoker.....the solution is so easy....just put the radio in your dishwasher!!donot forget to add lots of detergent before running your dirty radio through at least 5 wash cycles....if you are in a big hurry add about 1/2 gallon of liquid bleach...this will fix the dirtest radios believe me!!!only then can you put the dirty radio that is now clean radio into a preheated oven set to 475 or broil setting.....for 24 hrs....believe you me your problems will be over!!!!73...kpc

Yeah, but you forgot to stick cloves in it and pour honey on top! You can't cook a radio properly without cloves and honey! Oh, if you cook it in the microwave don't forget to take the cover off so it cooks good inside.

Oh, I don't know about that! I've cooked several electronic devices in my day without any of that stuff.

I got started in ham radio by building a spark transmitter, several decades ago, when I was a kid. Didn't take very long before a local ham got tired of hearing 60 cycle CW. He found me, administered the novice test and sold me a radio real cheap.
