Been on the air almost every night for a week, and I will be operating from 7:20 UTC at the latest. Sun, Mon, Tues are my days off, and I'll be on much earlier.
Gap Titan is fixed, needs some tuning on 40 and 10 (imagine that) but it's working. I can now switch from the Loop to the Gap and still use the amplifier.
I'm hoping to have better luck with Far Right Coasters with the Gap. Some great QSO's with AD4MG last week, and a few others have been trying, thanks for that.
Listening to the Geezer Society on 3922 (http://3922group.net/) right now.
PM me or try me on MSN Messenger... snokarver@msn.com.

We have a Gap Titan DX at the EOC, we discovered that to make it work on all bands advertised, we needed to connect wire to one of the elements. It was wierd how it all worked out, we had an analyzer hooked up, adjusted the counterpoise all we could. So I took an aligator clip with some wire soldered to it, and started clipping it to various elements and getting readings. Once we determined the length of wire needed, we made it a permenant connection with a stainless steel screw.

Mine broke at the base, and I repaired it. Icing with a windstorm did it in, and no, it was not guyed. It sure is now.
The aluminum bottom pole is a bit thicker, and I think it affected the tune on 30 meters, which used to be dead flat. I love the silly thing, it reminds me of the rocket ship jungle gyms in playgrounds...

I dunno man. Your pictures consistently scare the crap outa me...
Band was weird last night, swirled and twirled. Lots of absorption early, so it sucked. Then it finally went long, with a reasonable noise floor. Alllo Havaiiyyee. New Hampshire too. That was cool.
But I got really tired and started nodding off. Quit kinda early... 8:30 zZzZzZ
Meh, don't be frightened...... I think she was a bit more of the co-ed ho than a bulldog with liptstick when this shot was taken.

Have not heard KY5U. Might remember the call if I heard it. By the time I show up many are sleeping, or "playing dead".
Confinement to the attic for the raging kitten and not being able to "Get Out" may be a good thing. Perhaps as the band gets a little better?
Some nights are much better than others, and I'm not talking propagation. ;)
I'm a Coconut King now...
