I'll never understand why people waste their money on things like this. they would be better off investing money in good quality feedling and a good antenna

I would user a smaller resistor value for the ALC, R249, a 1K instead of 10K, I think it was. A little more audio, no distortion, and you still have control of it through the Mic Gain adjustment on the front panel. Plus you didn't need a amplified mic and you still have loud, but clean audio. You can also put a smaller cap in the RB circuit and decrease the time of the roger beep. A lower value resistor would change the tone. Somewhere around 500Hz was unique on the air.
I loved to play around with those things.

I got one of those imitation Rudepuppy1000'S once. Paid $129.95 for it and it screwed up the presleever dimentulator section of the audio amplification network. That cost me another $100 to get right by Big Pappy at RJ's truck stop.

Walk the dog and kick the cat, cat gone. Punch the wife, she gone and took the dog with her, dog gone. Drove off in the pickup truck, it gone too. Kids in the back, they gone... dog gone. They left me with the CB, that not gone, dog gone. Mebbe that why they call me Rude Puppy... or is that sick puppy? Oh well, still got that swing... dog gone and ain't comin' back neither, dog gone.
Now what's that tube of glue for? Oh I know, cold solder. (dog gone)
And now for your entertainment pleasure, the CB picture of today, the po whaat trash cain't affode no ECCCHO MAACK!

I had to see where that picture came from, so I did a search on the name at the bottom "One Watt Scott."
The fact they aren't 4 landers is awesome, IMHO.

He's got more money tied up in that 70's Suburban than I'll ever have in a hamshack.
I've seen similar vehicles driving around here. What I don't understand is that it is obvious that these are illegal stations, but nobody does anything about them. But, God forbid, get caught driving without a seatbelt and Johnny comes marching with a charge. Jeez.
He also has a very nice fixed station. Ya' think he's a licensed amateur??

If he is, he's probably someone that frequents the ZED.
You know George (AMR), there's plenty of room for some bodaicious shoes in that Chevelles big trunk...

I've always wondered though-if every mud duck in an area gets the super swing kit, then what mud ducks will you stomp over? :dance

That reminds me of a guy that used to rent a house from me back in Cleveland. He drove a POS mid 70's malibu, the ultimate 500 dollar winter beater car... but it had several thousand watts of audio power, tied up in a 2500 hundred dollar stereo.
You could hear the trunk lid thump for miles, it was so over driven it sounded like total crap, and since he only spent money on tunes and sound, and neglected the rest of the car, he was always scrounging money for gas and repairs... How does he manage to afford the gas for that Suburban? I bet it takes the revenue of a small middle eastern country to be able to put fuel in that barge.
On another note, I bet that guy could use his suburban to cook a fine dinner, just by near field RF. "..Just set the turkey on the hood right thar Maw... "
The FCC inspectors shouldn't have that much trouble finding him with those antennas, the only thing missing is tower lights.

I'd like to know how the heck he keeps it all on there at freeway speeds.
