I live in a deed restricted (but XYL friendly!) community north of Austin, TX. Outside antennas of any kind are not permitted -- I have three that work quite well yet are virtually invisible for 160 through 2 meters.

For 160 - 10 meters I use an Inverted L that is 30'H x 75'L. The insulated wire runs up and over a tree and across to another tree. There are 59 ground mounted radials that vary in length from 35' to 75' and connect to a DX Engineering radial plate at the base of the tree. The antenna is fed through an SG-230 Smartuner for multiband operation. Got great suggestions from N6LF and W8JI on the radial field which makes the antenna a good performer on all of the HF bands in spite of being fairly short for 80 and 160. The radials are also invisible - they were stapled to the turf and the grass has grown over them.

For 6 and 2 meters I have a two Par Omniangle horizontal loop antennas, an OA-50 and OA-144. The six meter loop is at 20' with the 2 meter loop at 15'. They are on a wooden dowel that I have mounted to a tree with lag bolts. The antennas and dowel have been spayed with camo paint.

All three feedlines are buried at the base of the trees and run to just outside the ham shack window where they come up out of the ground and then to a bulkhead for entrance to the house.

XYL friendly communities do not mean the end of HF operation!

Just a minor nitpick, but no HOA or condo association can restrict all antennas in your areas (not common areas). The FCC OTARD rules specifically prohibit any HOA or condo association from doing so for TV, DSS and fixed wireless (wireless internet or satellite internet.)

Of course for amateur radio antennas, you're correct.

Nicely done Tad, very stealthy!

How do the omni-angles perform? I am a big fan of the end-fedz Dale sells.

I really like the Par Omnianges, Steve. I have used them mobile and while roving on 6, 2 and 432 as well as at home. They have a cleaner omnidirectional pattern than most loops and a slight bit more gain due to being slightly longer than a traditional loop. The design and the mechanical construction are well done. Very easy to tune and rugged.

Hi Tad,

Nice work! Welcome to the site, even though you are a Steeler fan.
