[long-winded sob story, skipped for the benefit of the reader]
Please supply this ham with incentive to get there by going yourself. Deerfield is a hamfest that every ham should experience at least once -- it's downright truly awesome.
Trouble is -- I always come home exhausted. It's big, so there's lots of walking (but in a very pretty setting and amongst some great electronics), it's held at a time of year when the wx is "difficult" usually (last fall on Friday it was practically freezing rain), and it's a haul from here.
So, normally, I do Deerfield only occasionally...and having been there last fall, I'm on the fence about going this year. BUT -- if any of you are going to be there, that would be strong motivation to get my sorry ass up there.
Hows about it?
