I have a 2 meter and a 10 meter Antenna Specialist 5/8 wave antenna that have a broken center conductor. It is that little female, three faced, threaded piece that screws into the center of the loading coil base. I can't seem to find them any more. If you have any, or know a source, a PM here will work just fine. Thanks. Eddie

I have no idea what you are talking about, but I have a "TAP and DIE" set if you need it.

Oh man, since I can't figure out what you're talking about, can you find a picture to give us an example?

Ham fest junk box probably. I used to have several versions of that antenna on several of the vehicles that I drove back in the day. I found some locally about 40 years ago and bought a handful. However I've moved several times since then. End of story. I'll post a pix here when the camera wakes up. Thanks all. Details to follow, film at ten.

Have you asked Antenna Specialists? It looks like they're still around. A quick Google search says that they're now part of "Allen Telecom"

I didn't have any luck at their web site. Perhaps a phone call might work. Attached are the photos of the loading coil, the post as you look inside, and the post removed. This is what the post should look like, but eventually, one or two of four the sides break off from taking the coil on and off. I've tried the usual HRO, etc. Seems they remember seeing them, but no carry. The ham fest idea is probably the best bet.

Do you have a friend that happens to be a machinist? He could probably make you a dozen or so for a case of beer! It looks like it would be simple to make.

Machinists love beer! :-D
