Here's your chance!
I'll be operating from Ham Island on 40m using PSK31 through a SoftRock.
I will be sending out QSL cards after I get back featuring a photo of this beautiful British Isle, so here's your chance to get a card from this exotic and exciting location!
I'll update on the day and time as I solidify my commitments there, probably on Dec 5th, 6th or 7th. Possibly all 3 days.
Sure, no problem. I'll swing the beam your way.
Hey man...Gotta be The Standard catch for IOMH.
Cool and Hope to do it.
SoftRock On!

It's been raining with record high winds here so I don't think I'll be able to operate in the open on an island this trip.
If it looks like it will clear up and calm down I'll update here with a time to try.

Hihi! Nope, usually there is a break for half a day or so but not this time.
The only time it doesn't rain is when I'm interviewing, I am going to bring the rig with me tomorrow and see if I can give it a go from on top of a building downtown somewhere (if it isn't raining that is).

It's official, UK ops are a wash.
Too bad too, I really wanted to work you all from Ham Island.
Oh well, I will be living here in 2 months anyway since I did manage to get the job I came over to interview for.
365 chances a year to send you all QSL's!
Sorry gents, next time.
Congrats on the job and have a safe trip home.
I don't know whether to congratulate you or feel sorry for you, but I'll congratulate you nonetheless, you poor SOB!
Remember that England has no PRB-1, and the planning board can be worse than the most draconian of HOA's in the USA.
But anyway, best of luck my friend, and I hope to work you. I do manage to work a lot of UK stations running some seriously compromised antennas, so whatever you manage to put up, we'll be able to chat.

I know about the antenna thing, but the mere fact the social isn't a dirty word attached to Stalinism overrides many of the shortcomings.
If you even mention a social program in the states normally rational people get apoplectic and accuse you of trying to steal their kids or something.
Pretty sad if you ask me given the fact that the countries with the highest standards of living are European countries with social democracies.
I'll find a way around the antenna issue, I run barefoot so I can go stealth pretty easily.
I'm super bummed that I couldn't actually get a gray line without rain though, I really wanted to give the SoftRock a go and I even brought a 1/2 wave dipole and a wrist rocket to get it into the tree's.
But I like my laptop, so rain means no outdoor fun.
I was trying to find someplace around hotel to string it up, but it was in the city so a rooftop to rooftop move wasn't really feasible.
Like I said, maybe next month.
