View Full Version : Quote discrepancies
In using the "reply with quote" button to reply to threads , I am seeing additional text in the reply box , that's not in the original post . I'm not sure if this is text that was typed , then edited , or if some text is being lost from the post in the first place . I'll cite examples off-board if they're needed to track this down .

If you see that again, Russ, copy everything from the message box and email it to me to avoid the board formatting the text.

I'm pretty sure it's text that was in the original message but didn't show up on the board posting. I've seen it happen a few times--I think there's an intermittent bug that pops up in the vBulletin software. I never mentioned it before because I figured Jeff et al already knew about it.
Russell, I'd be curious to know what browser you're using. I've mostly seen it show up in Safari for OS X but that just could be because I use it about ten times more than any other.
I'm using Chrome 7.0.517.41 , running under WinXP , sp3 .

Hmmm... Chrome and Safari are both based on same rendering engine, WebKit. I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem. I'll start using Firefox on my XP machine and see if it makes a difference.
Using an identical Chrome on newly updated XP SP3 , on the other machine in the household , the problem does not exist . It was , in fact , eliminating some text from the posts . Weird .
