View Full Version : Congrats W3SY
For apparently being the only person here besides me who sees more to life than the constant battle between the limp wristed Democraps and the Republitard Nazis. Damn this forum is getting a wee dram overloaded with the constant contest of urination. Don't you guys ever get tired of the whining and crying, sheesh?
Wake up poo poo heads, there is more to life than all of this and guess what, some of it you can control!
Actually, there is a person directly affected by the news here everyday who closely watches the news for their loved one's benefit. I may be a poo poo head, but I even really care when people are in car accidents even though I miss the details until late.
Personally, I watch for the possibility of a draft and hope the political climate does not require one. I stand to lose all my kids to the events you find so droll.
To live a life where I don't care about the political climate would be to either have nothing at stake or to really not possibly care less about what what can happen next.
So if you have nothing at stake, I congratulate you. You are truly fortunate.
Me. I am just thinking about myself hoping that the events of the world don't take my children.
The point was pal, that languishing in the misery of the daily BS has got to get old, well, especially for those of us who live in neat little slices of hell.
I more than care about what is going on both locally, nationally and globally. Your assumption that I do not care because I suggest to those of you stuck in the grey faced spots of misery that grace the landscape of our shared country is beyond ludicrous.
I often enjoy as well as being pushed to think because of the heavy pensive posts here but often wonder why a half of you guys are still here to post. If I found life as the one sided grief and misery that most of you do, I would have drawn a warm bath, laid back and slit my wrists by now.
Just because you have been blessed with male harmonics, does not necessarily mean that my female ones are beyond the long arm of the draft. One is prime pickings and the other following closely behind her to be the next sacrifices to be offered up by the garbage that we allow to run this nation.
I could quite easily turn this into one of my soap box lectures where I drone on ad nauseum about life being too short to not enjoy some bright spots it has to offer and then pop in to an additional one about how you young guys need to lighten up a bit. Life is not a Pepsi commercial there Sunshine, but it is what you make of it. Short of nuking DC, little will change as the unenlightened will continue to destroy this country until they are stopped. For many of us, as you briefly eluded in your back handed claim that I don’t give a rip, looking a little closer to home, specifically within the home, may actually open the eyes of some of us to the fact that there is one hell of a lot more important stuff to life and obviously, if you were to review it, you would see that my point was to impact the things that you CAN. If this is all way over your head, then you quite obviously are beyond all hope and I am wasting my time justifying my post to you, aren’t I?
As a final reality check, try to spend a little time with the family this weekend as I cannot and come back and tell me how much fun you had, that you have run out of Montreal Steak Rub again and then, tell me how right I was. For the pathetic saps who are quite unlike you and I my friend, they sir, are the ones who will have no clue of which I speak and I know that you know better, so don't disappoint me.
Now see there, you have gone and made me make an attempt at an intelligent reply again and because of you, people will be quite convinced that I have never posted on QRZed……. I hope you’re happy now…… thanks a lot!
*edit* I just took a little look see in the political section here and you guys wonder why my visits have become infrequent, huh? Now that my little friends, is funny as hell! I was under the impression that we kind of spun off of the Zed because it became an unpleasant place to visit, but, reading what I see here has become, well, depressing. Jerry gets ticked and tries to make it seem as if I live in an impenetrable vacuum, protected from all of the horrors we see each day and Rob gets blasted for stating the obvious in the political threads. Guys, I like ya, I really do, but like me Mum and Dad told me, "You become as those you choose to associate with." Damn they were smart and I still haven't learned my lesson I guess. I guess I'll head back out on vacation from the Island with Luke. I'll bet that lucky bugger is off playing radio or chillin' with the family or something....... I am so the hell outta here it ain't funny. C ya!
To each, his own. Just because some here engage in politics doesn't mean that you have to. There's a lot of room here for everybody and what you do is up to you. I tend to monitor a bit more these days because it has gotten so busy here and so I have less time to post while I'm here. SY, as you've mentioned, certainly hasn't had a problem and I'm glad to see both of you here. But there are always other forums besides this one if you want to start threads. And if someone posts something you don't really want to get into, then, IMHO, just walk on down the hall as Morrison once said.
;)
Well, after a three month rest, I still gotta say, SKREW POLITICKS...... Where is the poke, ummm, Pope, did it get banned from here too?

Politics is a waste of time. I don't give a damn who you vote for, or who gets elected. Every politician will kiss a** and promise you the world to get elected, knowing full and damn well they will do as they please when they get into office. Politics has become a career for those who are crooked.
The ONLY honest politician is someone who gets elected as the local dog catcher, and that honesty lasts about 6 months, and then they are hooked and corrupted by the power.
Ok, I feel much better now, except I need about 3 months on uninerupted sleep to catch up with the sleep I haven't been getting. That or a bottle of 25 y/o Glenlivet
Well, that's pretty much my take on it Keith. The only bigger waste of time, effort and sanity is p!ssing and moaning about politics on an internet forum board. I know it's all a thing of 'belonging' or, on the inverse, an excuse for intelligent banter and pensive and witty quips to appear informed and intellectual to others. The sad part is, reality kicks in and even the staunchest political whiners, like those here, all go to bed at night knowing their vote and opinion don't make a tinkers damn in the overall scheme of the universe. I take great pleasure in knowing this as well as knowing that their vote also is as useful as a spec of gnat's p!ss in the ocean.

Me too.
And Jeeebus... How did I miss this thread the first time around?
I figure politics as a hobby is a lot like football as a hobby. The game never changes, only the faces and the ticket prices.

Im with ya as well. But I am stymied as to how or why this thread ended up on the cee bee subsector? Maybe its just me....
Screw politricks anyway. Until a REAL conservative candidate appears, its just all bravo sierra and two card monte

Simple, there may be a few here on the Island who, for God only knows what reason, REALLY take all of the babblings and verbal diarrhea in the Politics section here seriously and those so afflicted with such a vile and disturbing disease would never bother to look in a Congrats Pope thread in the CB section. Besides, it's not my intention to hurt anyone who thinks all of this sh!t is reals feeling, just felt like speaking my mind. All of the Obama, Ron Paul and Hillary crap is just way too old. I have found that the older I get, I tend to make it less far down the path towards election time on election year as I was capable of four years prior.

I don't know what I am more sick of hearing about on the news, the lying, name calling politicraps, or Britney Spears and her latest escapades.
I'm afraid Lyndsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Christina A Gorilla are likely to be considered positive role models by the time the chunky, lil mouseketeer, gutter slut from LA has finished her self destruction cycle. :-?
