Everyone having fun with the MS Desktop Search crap this week?

Looks like this was "pushed" as an update, even though it's been around awhile. My boss tried to deinstall it and it hosed his machine. I haven't touched it yet. XP Pro...

BUT... I recently upgraded from Nero 6 to Nero 8 at home to play with a few video files. Came home the other night to a warning that the machine was dangerously low on virtual memory. Physically, the box has 768 Meg RAM and about a Terabyte of disk. Task Manager shows 2.1 Gig of memory allocated to a Nero Indexing service.

WTF??!! I didn't ASK for this and have no use for it. Why is it that all of a sudden, these companies think MY back yard is THEIR playground?

Pisses me off.

Wow. I'm sticking with my 6.1 Nero in that case. Never had a complaint with it since I replaced Direct-CD with Nero.

768 mb is pretty light these days ... stuff that thing with 2 gigs if the MB will handle it!
