I found some interesting software while reading a pdf file, yeah a pdf file, and I used the name in the titlebar of an example screen shot to locate the web site

http://www.dl5swb.de/html/software_for_ ... _radio.htm (http://www.dl5swb.de/html/software_for_amateur_radio.htm)

Of particular interest is the
mini Ring Core Calculator and the mini dB Calculator one for calculating rf coils, not just toroids, and the other for calculating signal loss.

Another package is the AADE Filter designer available at http://www.aade.com

The Linear Technology website has a nice SPICE designer simulator available too check it out at the link below.
http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/index.jsp

If you are looking for something like this check them out.
If you have the links to some other useful, hopefully free, software why don't you post them here.

You guys will love this ... a free electronic CAD program ... TinyCAD:

Welcome to the TinyCAD home page (http://tinycad.sourceforge.net/)

TinyCAD is a program to help you draw circuit diagrams. It comes complete with symbol libraries to get you started straight away. As well as being able to simply print your designs, you can use TinyCAD to publish your drawings by copying and pasting into a Word document, or saving as a PNG bitmap for the web.
